There was an impromptu meeting on 435 this week. The consensus was that we host a trivia Q&A net on Fridays 8pm beginning Feb 23.

To start, we will rotate hosting (asking questions) 10-15 minutes each. You can listen, answer or host asking some questions.

We now have 220 Mhz and 440 Mhz inputs to the 435 repeater; in addition to the 2m input. All these inputs are mixed so 3 people can talk at the same time. If you transmit on 220 or 440, you can duplex listening on the repeater output 147.435.

The 2m input is 146.400 103.5 PL (odd split)
220 MHz input is 223.630 023 DPL
440 MHz input is 437.450 617 DPL

As you may have noticed, 435 is currently off air. Word is many antennas on the hill were damaged by recent storms with wind gusts up to 100 mph.

Could be antennas, transmitter, lighting strike blowing a polyphaser, etc. The rack has power and I can connect to the repeater via internet.

I’ve ordered some new equipment and assembling a team for a Santiago Mountain visit early April. Let me know if you are interested in joining us with your radio station skills. A service monitor would be helpful.

Forrest service says all the roads up are closed except Silverado Canyon from Orange County, but they recommended waiting due to current mud sloppiness.
